Fort Valley is accessible from the very north tip of the mountain at Route 55 and Route 678 (Fort Valley Road). The store is 13 miles from this intersection; from Luray (east of Massanutten) via Route 675; and from Edinburg and from Woodstock (west of Massanutten) via Route 675. We are also accessible from Woodstock Tower Road, but it is closed late January - late March, and at other times, if the weather is bad or road conditions are dangerous.
We suggest you print your directions before venturing out, because your GPS will not work going through many sections of the national forest.
Do not rely on your GPS! Print maps whenever possible BEFORE you head to Fort Valley. T Mobile is the main cell service provider in the region, but there are many dead zones throughout the national forest.
The store has free super duper high speed fiber optic Internet by FoxWireless.net. You are welcome to use it while you're in The Fort.
We realize you may need more than fuel, sandwiches, or the wide array of convenience items we carry, but you'll have to go to Strasburg, Front Royal, Edinburg or Woodstock for access to larger stores and restaurants. Whichever direction you decide to go, all of these towns are 20 - 30 minutes from the store. Just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, and stay in your lane!
